Trina Burkhart
Trina Burkhart is a teacher, author, and Gram whose love for stories and family inspired the creation of Eli the Eel. She began creating Eli nearly twenty years ago, scribbling rhymes and dreaming up characters between lessons and bedtime routines. Over the years, the story stayed with her and found new life when her granddaughter was born.
Drawing on her background in education, Trina writes with a mix of heart and playfulness that readers of all ages connect with. Her stories focus on themes of kindness and friendship – lessons she has carried into both her family and classroom. Through her picture books, she hopes to nurture curiosity, imagination, and a lifelong love of reading in children and families alike.
When she isn’t teaching or writing, Trina enjoys spending time with her family, reading, traveling, and working on creative projects. Eli the Eel is her debut picture book, marking the beginning of many undersea adventures with Eli and his friends!
